Vsauce - YouTube

Perhaps I have featured this YouTube channel before, but I'll do it again.

Vsauce is a great video blog of "Myth Buster" style documentaries or explanations of Science, Math and a lot of other odd things that we have have questions about.  These small videos are a great addition to some of your lessons or just share as a fun tidbit to generate some intrigue and curiosity.

Here is a sample - Why Do We Have Two Nostrils?

SMART Response Video Tutorial

On my You Tube channel I curate and collect videos from You Tube into specific playlists or collections for teachers to use when helping them learn more about specific products or technology for their classrooms.

I have such a playlist for SMART Response software and hand-held devices.  This playlist is constantly being updated any time I find more quality video associated with SMART Response.

Be sure to check out my channel for other playlists that may be of your interest.

Check it out.

More SMART Notebook Video Tutorials

Taking advantage of YouTube's curating options and ability, I've organized and put together playlists of video tutorials for different topics.  One of them is for SMART Notebook.  After doing much search for helpful, practical and informative tutorials, I felt these were of great quality.  This playlist will be an ongoing build; like a video blog.  So keep checking for updates and newly added video.  As I find more practical content I will add them to my playlists.  Feel free to subscribe to my channel, so you can get notifications of when I do add something new.  Visit my SMART Notebook YouTube playlist

You will, also, notice, perhaps, a familiar voice in some of the videos.  I have been posting my own tutorials; short easy-to-swallow snippets about SMART Notebook.  Be sure to check those ones out as well.

Please feel free to give me your feedback on these playlists in the comment sections of either this blog post or the playlists.

SMART Notebook Toolbar Tutorial

I just uploaded my latest podcast covering the basics of the SMART Notebook Toolbar; apx 7min.  Check it out at Youtube and view below:

My plan is to do more of these by making short 30sec snippets of each tool and how it works.   Then placing them at my Google Site (Ratkacher Station also) with a directory for those specific tools which you can look up at any time.  That will be in the future.

Let me know what you think of the video content and quality, or let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to see as a video tutorial.  Place these comments in the comment section below this blog post or at the YouTube location of this video.

Literacy in Science: Word Clouds

TeachingChannel is a You Tube channel that offers some great ideas and concepts for the classroom in short video.  Here is an interesting approach to engage science students better when reading articles.  Great when implementing complex text.

Be sure to check the rest of their collection at TeachingChannel.

Common Core State Standards: Explained by The Hunt Institute

The Hunt Institute has put together a collection of 30 plus videos explaining the Common Core on You Tube.  Most of the videos average 3 to 4 minutes.

Because the videos are short snippets, this should allow you to take 3 to 4 minutes out of your day to view one a day to help you understand this new nation-wide initiative.

Below is The Hunt Institue's introduction video to the Common Core State Standards to give you a taste:
